2022 Chatham Area Farm Tour

Visitors will tour farms, greet animals, taste farm-fresh foods and more

The Chatham Agricultural Partnership and Columbia Land Conservancy present this free tour. It will feature farms in the Chatham area who open their doors to the public to get a peak into the diverse face of farming in northern Columbia County. Participants will see farm animals including horses, cattle, chickens, and more along with fresh produce, meats, wine, and syrup from farm stands for purchase.

The Chatham Berry Farm

Jersey Meadow Farm

Jersey Meadow is a family owned and operated, small-scale, state certified raw milk dairy. Their ongoing goal is quality, affordable milk with a taste that keeps you coming back. Stop by and visit the friendly Jersey cows and calves, enjoy a free sample of milk, and take the time for a self-guided tour of the milking barn. We will be serving soft serve ice cream, and there will be “barrel train” rides for the children.

Hawthorne Valley Farm

High & Mighty Farm

The Barn at Miller’s Crossing

We grow certified organic vegetables, plants and flowers; raise a small grass fed beef herd, make maple syrup and maple products and manage a 400 acre grain operation. Our produce is marketed through member CSAs, the Hudson Farmers’ Market, our retail farm stand and numerous wholesale accounts. Our retail farm store, in a 250-yr-old Dutch Barn, is just around the corner from our home farm. Our tours will be at the Farm stand on route 217 at 10:00am, 11:30am, and 1:00pm.

Arthur’s Point Farm

Established in 2020, Arthur’s Point Farm specializes in growing and selling a variety of native and locally-adapted cultivars of nuts, fruits, and other ecologically-important trees, shrubs, and perennial wildflowers of superior genetic selection. The farm also produces probiotic biochars that build soil health, recycle nutrients, and sequester carbon. Additionally, we advise on agroforestry and ecological restoration projects. Maple Leaf Sugaring

Equine Advocates Rescue and Sanctuary

Equine Advocates promotes the humane and responsible treatment of equines through rescue operations, advocacy and humane education. Come and meet the 81 rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules that call the sanctuary home! Read their bios on graphics at each paddock, and learn about where they came from and why they needed to be rescued. You will gain a better understanding of the issues facing America’s equines through their stories. This makes for a much more education and fun experience! Bring your lunch and picnic at our benches by the pond–you can watch the horses nearby and enjoy one of the most serene places on the farm. We know you will have a memorable time!
