The purpose of this document is to provide an update to the 2009 Town of Chatham Agricultural Protection Plan that reflects the changing farming profile of Chatham with associated modifications and additions to the strategies and tactics in the original plan. Extensive additional information can be found in the original Agricultural Protection Plan adopted by the Town of Chatham in 2009 and the Community Preservation Plan adopted by the Town of Chatham in May 2023.

Farm Film Festival, presented annually by the Crandell Theatre in collaboration with the Chatham Agricultural Partnership (CAP) and the Columbia Land Conservancy, harnesses the power of film to focus on farms, farming, and farming issues across the region and beyond. Farm Film Fest 2020 is Rescheduled

Farm Film Fest 12, the twelfth annual film festival devoted to farms and farming, will be screened virtually on Sunday, September 13, beginning at 3pm. This yearโ€™s lineup of films focus on farms, farmers, and farming issues both local and national โ€” all centered around this yearโ€™s theme: โ€œFarming for the Future: Sustainability in a Time of Change.โ€ Farm Film Festival 12 is a virtual event this year โ€” and once again free and open to all.

Farm Tour 2020 is Canceled

The Chatham Agricultural Partnership and Chatham annual farmers have hosted the Chatham Area Farm Tour for ten consecutive years. The free tour features farms in the Chatham area open to the general public. Farm Film Fest 12 Farming for the Future

The one-day film festival has been postponed. Stay tuned for a new date. The festival shows films that focus on farms and farming issues with special consideration for those with a regional connection. Interest in the festival continues to grow, with attendance increasing each year. The program includes films made by professional and amateur filmmakers. Winners of Farm Tour 2019 Photography Contest Announced

The Chatham Agricultural Partnership are pleased to announce the three winners of the 2019 Photography Contest. The contest included three divisions: Child (under 10), Youth (11-16 years) and Adult (17+ years). All images were taken on September 28 between 10:00am and 4:00pm, on one of the participating farms. The winning photographs were displayed in the Columbia Land Conservancy window on Main St. in Chatham, on the Chatham Keep Farming Website and Instagram account, and at the 2019 Farm Film Festival.

The Chatham Agricultural Partnership invited members of the town’s farming community to A Harvest Dinner, Friday, November 21 from 6:00-8:30pm at the Old Chatham Firehouse. Meat dishes and drinks were be provided and guests brought a dish to share using local foods.
